SEO for private schools

SEO for a private school means answering the fees-and-value question directly, competing in the international search that feeds boarding, and making bursary and scholarship routes as findable as the prospectus.

The problem

This is the only school audience with a price objection, and it is the only one where the decision may be made from another country. Fees, bursaries, boarding and visa questions carry the search. Most independent school sites treat fees as something to be requested rather than published, which removes them from the single comparison the buyer is most determined to make.

The fee page is the money page

Withholding fees does not delay the comparison; it just moves the comparison to a third-party directory that estimates them. A published, current fee schedule is the single highest-leverage page on an independent school site.

International demand is a different search

Boarding enquiries arrive from markets with their own query patterns, their own assistants, and often their own language. Treating this as an afterthought on an English-only site leaves the whole segment to agents.

  • Fee schedule published as data, by year group and by boarding status
  • Bursary and scholarship eligibility stated in plain terms
  • Guardianship, visa and travel logistics for international families
  • Destination and outcome data that justifies the fee

Reputation search is part of the job

Prospective families search the school name alongside words you did not choose. What they find is a search result you can influence, and it belongs in the same workstream as everything else here.
